KML supports the use of COLLADA format models, which are referenced within a <Placemark> element. Thousands of user created models can be downloaded from the Google 3D Warehouse.
New KML:

(1) Fly to Washington DC.
(2) Turn on the 3D Warehouse layer.
(3) Locate the White House.
(4) Zoom in until the yellow house placemark appears.
(5) Open the placemark's description balloon and click on the image of the White House.
(6) Through the webpage which opens, download to your local drive the model, selecting the .kmz option.
(7) Open in Google Earth.
(8) Relocate the White House to the UAF campus (Hint: open the properties dialog box for Model).
(9) Save the Model object as 1600house.kml.
(10) Open in a text editor and identify the function of the various KML elements, using the links to documentation above where necessary.
The following changes should be made by editing 1600house.kml in a text editor:
(11) Resize the White House model to cover the whole of the UAF campus.
(12) Change the values of <Orientation> so that the white House is going its best impression of the Titanic
